At The Oaks, we believe everyone deserves to feel wonder, rest, and belonging. While our woodland setting and unique builds bring natural challenges, we’re committed to honest, transparent information so you can decide if our spaces are right for you. 🌳✨

 

🌍 Overview

We offer three magical accommodations:

• 🌳 Cedar Hollow – a spacious, uniquely accessible treehouse

• 🦌 The Faun’s Hideaway – a stone-and-timber cottage inspired by Narnia

• 🛖 The Beaver’s Den – a rustic shed conversion with outdoor hot tub

Due to the woodland environment and the nature of our builds, some accessibility limitations do exist. But we’re always happy to help. Please reach out with any questions — we’ll always do our best to accommodate your needs.

• We’re happy to assist with luggage — just let us know in advance

• Cedar Hollow: ~20m walk via uneven woodland path

• Faun’s Hideaway:

  • ~5m via stairs

  • OR ~10m via a grass path with just one step

• Beaver’s Den: ~25m via gravel and grass path

 

🌳 Cedar Hollow – The Treehouse

A rare gem — a treehouse that’s accessible due to its hillside location!

• ♿ Step-free access via a wide wooden decked ramp with handrails

• 🚪 Front door width: 82cm

• 🪵 Fully single-level inside (except for mezzanine area)

• 🛏 Beds:

  • 1 super king

  • 2 singles on main level

  • 2 additional singles via a steep ladder to mezzanine (not suitable for those with limited mobility)

• 🚿 Bathroom:

  • Toilet + shower

  • Small step into shower cubicle

• 🍽 Living/Dining:

  • Open-plan layout

  • Moveable furniture

  • Indoor dining: standard-height wooden table + 4 antique chairs (seat height ~45cm)

• 🌞 Outdoor balcony with rattan seating (loveseat + two armchairs)

  • Accessed via low-threshold patio doors

  • Deck has guard rails

• 💡 Lighting:

  • Mix of pendant + spotlights

  • Large windows provide plenty of natural light

 

🦌 The Faun’s Hideaway

 

A ground-floor cottage with charm and character.

• 🌿 Access via grass path

  • 1 step (approx. 18cm) from outside

• 🚪 Door width: 82cm

• 🪨 Flooring:

  • Original stone (some unevenness due to reclaimed materials)

• 🛋 Bedroom and lounge on ground floor

• 🚿 Bathroom with small step into shower

• 🍳 Kitchenette at standard height

• 🪟 Lighting:

  • Ambient, with task lamps and fairy lights

• 🪞 ✨ Voice-activated lights via our Magic Mirror! (Optional — standard switch also available)

 

🛖 The Beaver’s Den

 

A charming but very rustic retreat, best for guests without mobility impairments.

• 🚪 Access across grass and gravel, with a small step (~20cm)

  • Large alternative door available for wider entry

• 🔥 Heating provided by electric fireplace

  • We also offer an electric blanket on request

• 🛏 One double bed on a single-level layout

• 🚿 ❌ No private bathroom inside

  • Bathroom located in the shared pool-room, approx. 40m away, across gravel and woodchip paths

• 🛁 Outdoor 2-person hot tub, accessed via low wooden steps

🚫 This space is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

 

🌲 Outdoor Areas

• Natural woodland setting with woodchip, gravel, and stone paths

• Some areas feature steps or uneven terrain

• Firepit and seating zones are on levelled stone or woodchip surfaces

• 💡 Lighting is soft and atmospheric, in harmony with the forest setting
