How do I access the property?

Check-in is fully automated and we operate an electronic key self-check-in system. To check in, visit here

You will be asked to sign our terms and conditions and then authorise a deposit hold. (The money is not charged - just held against your account in case there is any damage - exactly as is standard at any hotel or guesthouse).

This page will include your electronic keys that will enable themselves from check-in time to check-out time.

How do I book facilities or order room service?

The links to book facilities or order room service appear on the check in page (here). The links will appear there shortly before your check-in day.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in to your rental is from 3pm on your check-in day but you are welcome to arrive from 1pm to enjoy the facilities. We will do our utmost to have rooms ready earlier and if you are on-site, we will let you know as soon as the room is ready.

Check-out from the rental is from 11am but you can remain on-site for an additional hour as long as you have left the rental itself.

Are you dog friendly?

I'm afraid we are not.

Do you provide linen and towels?

All necessary linen is provided. Expect the same level of internal finish as you would get at a 5* hotel.

Towels are available in your rental, in the swimming pool and in the sauna.

Is there a fridge?

Every rental has an undercounter fridge.

Is there a hair dryer?

Do you provide a children's cot?

Yes, this can be added upon request

 Cancellation Policy

​

We operate a semi-flexible cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your reservation, as long as you cancel within one month of the booking, you are entitled to a full refund.

​Can we store our luggage with you?

​​

Yes- feel free to drop off your luggage at our reception prior to check-in or post check-out if you would like to explore Oxford.

What is the parking situation?

​​

Each rental comes with one parking space. Further parking is available at the  Shotover Park Carpark - a 5 minute walk away.

​

Noise Pollution

​

We ask that our guests be considerate of our neighbours and cease noisy activity after 10pm. We also do not allow any boomboxes or external speakers on site without prior arrangement.. 

​

No Smoking Property

​

In order to protect both our guests and residents from the dangers of second-hand smoke, Cedar Hollow @ The Oaks operates a fully "no smoking" policy.  All private as well as public areas are non-smoking. Should guests be found to smoke in the property ,we reserve the right to enforce a fine of £50 per offence. If smoking occurs in the room, the fine will be £200 to pay for a deep clean.

Booking Facilities

We ask you to use the booking app to book your times. This is to ensure that you have exclusive use of the respective facility during the allotted time.

Hot Tub & Sauna

​

The Hot Tub and Sauna are used at your own risk. Be aware of health and safety risks of the temperatures for children. We do not recommend children below 12 years of age use these facilities but we let you determine your own risk profile.

Tennis  Rackets and Balls

​​

Rackets and balls for both lawn tennis as well as table tennis are available in the storage box in the tennis court. Please make sure to book your times ​

Swimming times

​​

Swim times must be pre-booked within the 1 hour timeslots available (09.00-21:00hrs). No lifeguards on duty so swimming is at your own risk. The app limits you to 2 sessions booked in advance at any one time to ensure fair use. You can book more sessions once your session has been used. There is no limit to how much time you spend in the pool but can only book two guaranteed slots in advance.

Fireworks and Chinese Lantern Balloons

Fireworks and Chinese Lantern Balloons are strictly prohibited. Deposit will be forfeighted if either are used.

Is the site wheelchair friendly?

​​

We have made provisions for guests with disabilities and would be happy to discuss your requirements on request. If you have special mobility needs, please contact us. While we have tried our best, please do bare in mind that this is a woodland location making it slightly difficult.

Forgotten Property​

​

If items are forgotten in the treehouse, we are more than happy to send them on. We charge £14 + P&P. Please understand that the £14 all goes towards the cleaner as that is her actual rate pro rata for the time it takes to package and ship the item(s) back to you.

Cancellation Policy

​​

We operate a semi-flexible cancellation policy. If you need to cancel your reservation, as long as you cancel within one month of the booking, you are entitled to a full refund (minus 5% charge which is charged by our payments provider). Moving a booking to a different date is free of charge. Only the difference in price is payable if the new date is during a higher season.

At The Oaks, many of our creative spaces are inspired by the spirit of English myth, folklore, and storytelling — including the works of C.S. Lewis, whose imagination has touched generations.

We are proud to enjoy a positive relationship with the C.S. Lewis Foundation, a U.S.-based non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Lewis’s legacy and promoting imagination, faith, and scholarship. The Foundation also stewards The Kilns, Lewis’s historic home in Oxford.

However, we are not affiliated with C.S. Lewis Pte. Ltd., the Singapore-based company that holds the commercial rights to C.S. Lewis’s works, including The Chronicles of Narnia. We do not use or reproduce any copyrighted content, or direct elements from Lewis’s books or related media.

Our project is an original, multi-layered experience that draws from broader English cultural traditions — rural life, ancient runes, oral storytelling, and illusion — and uses fantasy as a tool for imagination, play, and wonder.
