Facilities
Fire pit
Two fire pits are available for our guests to use and all firewood and firelighters are available free of charge.
Trampoline, Slackline, Swings & Zipline
Trampoline, Swings & Slackline are available dotted around the estate and available for everyone to use.
The zipline however is exclusive to the treehouse guests as the zipline starts in the treehouse itself!
Muntjac Meadow
Nestled beside one of our orchards, Muntjac Meadow is a grassy haven where young (and not-so-young) guests can kick off a friendly match between two football goals. Prefer something a little more genteel? Rent a croquet set or a badminton kit, and we’ll happily transform the meadow into your own woodland court — perfect for gentle games and enchanted afternoons beneath the trees.
Explore Our Sculptures and Illusions
At The Oaks, magic isn’t just a theme—it’s a craft. Created by a member of The Magic Circle, illusions are woven throughout the estate: from hidden carvings and woodland puzzles to our AI-powered talking mirror.
Each stay reveals its own enchantments, and during your welcome tour, we’ll guide you to as many as the woods will share.
Explore the Bats of Shotover
We provide everything you need for a magical night of bat watching, including a user-friendly bat detector and red light torch (to preserve night vision). Each rental comes with a beautifully designed guide to UK bat species, complete with tips on spotting and identifying them. Whether you're a curious beginner or a seasoned nature lover, our kits make it easy to tune in to the hidden world of bats. Just step outside at dusk—and let the adventure begin.
The Beekeeper's Atelier (coming soon)
Step inside our cosy Beekeeper's Atelier — a charming little space where the secret life of bees comes gently to life. Learn about the lifecycle of these extraordinary pollinators, trace the roots of beekeeping, and explore why bees matter now more than ever. With thoughtfully curated displays, a glimpse into our working hives, and tastings of honey made right here at The Oaks, it’s a sweet fusion of nature, sustainability, and storytelling. As proud holders of the Gold Award from Green Tourism, we’re delighted to share a little of the buzz behind our bees.
